IMRaD vs. English Papers
IMRaD writing is very different from what I'm used to. In English, we didn't have any sort of rigid structure. We made our ideas flow from one to the other to make it read easier, and used language and tone to convey certain meanings. With this writing, there is a very rigid structure. No real transition is needed, because every section is broken up by headers that do the job just fine. Ideas are just stated outright, and no fluffiness is required. English papers were also significantly shorter than this, and didn't require us to find our own data. This will be an interesting challenge.
