This piece is academic article about a study conducted through content analysis. It is a part of a whole book of studies, each one researching a different aspect of journalism and media. It is broken up into sections and sub-sections, each one getting a clear heading, and with little attempt to make a smooth, flowing transition into a new topic. I will use this source in my paper to show how professionals in my field find data and conduct research, and how they present that research to their colleagues.

This is an academic journal article that surveys a sample from a population of journalists to find out why certain practices are the norm in the field. This article is full of technical jargon and data, which will be useful in my paper. I will analyze the language in this article to show how professionals in journalism provide ethos and logos, and how they present hard mathematical formulas and tables. I will also show how professionals in journalism cite their many sources.

This is an academic article that uses a comparative study to show similarities and differences between parts of the world based on certain criteria. This piece has a very distinct structure that I will be analyzing in my paper. I will analyze why and how professionals in journalism structure the information they want to share with their colleagues, snd how that would differ from the structure one would write for the general public in this field. This comparison will help to show the distinct differences between academic and nonacademic writings in journalism.
